#Sundar S: Hello Darthikyu, or should I say Darth Vader hehe! Thank you for accepting our request to be interviewed during this sunny day. First things first, would you mind giving a brief introduction of who you are in general?
@Darthikyu: Sure. I'm Darthikyu, formerly known as Darthakin (esis, equiem, alix, iclause) and probably some I forgot.
@Darthikyu: I'm a 20 year old dude from Belgium that studies history currently.
#Sundar S: Ah, quite the historian are you? The first question comes from Krossfade, who asks how many alts do you have, and how do you have that many?
@Darthikyu: Jeopard-E claims I have 23, though in general I think I named all of them earlier. As for how, idk, I just get bored of names quickly. I'm surprised I've stuck with Darthikyu as long as I have.
#Sundar S: I definitely understand, from a perspective at which I had changed alts a lot, to the point where I sticked being Sundar S for now. The next question comes from Awesome96Birdy, who asks if you had to pick to be one person for a day, who would it be and why?
@Darthikyu: If I could be anyone I wanted for 1 day I'd probably want to be myself. I'm happy with how things are, don't really need to be anyone else. Especially not a celebrity or stuff.
#Sundar S: That's agreeable; I wouldn't want to try and be like someone else by all means. It just doesn't make me feel like me. The next few questions come from Ultimate Barista, who first asks you what got you in to the Pokemon fandom in the first place?
@Darthikyu: Pokemon itself is a bit of a lame story, honestly. I like Digimon way more than I like Pokemon, but since there were no Digimon sites I began browsing Pokemon. From there, someone showed me this site, and that's when I began appreciating Pokemon. I've stuck around for those 6 years now.
#Sundar S: You've been here longer than me, what. Jokes aside, that's pretty intriguing to know how your passion for Digimon led you into loving Pokemon as a franchise. Another question Ultimate Barista asks is if you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live and why?
@Darthikyu: Ah, the cosmo based questions are beginning? :P
@Darthikyu: If I could live anywhere in the world I wanted, I'd want to live in Leuven/Louvain in Flanders.
@Darthikyu: I'm quite happy here, though a bit too close to the capital for my liking.
#Sundar S: It sounds like a location that'd be a personal vacation spot for you, and I wish you the best in visiting there and having so many delightful experiences! The next question comes from Sugar Balls, who asks what was your reaction in the moment you got global voice?
@Darthikyu: In all blatant honesty, apart from being happy I suppose, I didn't really find it that special. Being auth in rooms to me is fun because it means I can contribute in new ways to rooms I already love, gvoice doesn't really mean much to me compared to that.
@Darthikyu: When I got voice in cosmo I was really happy because I felt like I really contributed positively to the room, and since I really liked the room, it made me happy.
#Sundar S: Aww, that's so sweet to hear. The next question comes from Arrti, who asks what do you consider to be your weakness?
@Darthikyu: Bullets come to mind.
@Darthikyu: On a more serious note, if I had to judge myself I'd probably say I think I argue too often.
#Sundar S: Well, everyone has their pros and cons, so that's very reasonable. For example, people say I speak too quickly, though it's a problem that can be resolved over time. The next question comes from I'm Soapy, who asks what is your favorite room in PS!?
@Darthikyu: Digimon of course.
@Darthikyu: They'd sue me if I said anything else ;)
#Sundar S: LOL, that makes sense. The next question comes from your friend Lucario1582, who asks would you ever travel to America at some point in your life?
@Darthikyu: Odds are I most likely will, at some point, travel to America. Don't know when, don't know how, but I probably will. I plan to visit a lot of countries at some point, honestly, if I can.
#Sundar S: That's great to hear. Trying to explore each country's culture, history, and as well as cuisine is always the delight. The next question comes from Gimm1ck, who asks which daily category is your favorite out of them all?
@Darthikyu: Definitely wildlife.
@Darthikyu: I love coming on in the morning and seeing a new wildlife being posted. In the past I managed to get all animals I loved on there, and it always brought me some joy.
#Sundar S: Oh wow, that's pretty interesting to hear. Alumn asks you where did you find inspiration to use the name Darth? He mentions whether you combined the words Darth (Vader) with Mimikyu to make that name.
@Darthikyu: That's a long story, really, but I'll give the tl;dr of it.
@Darthikyu: In the past I had a good friend who loved star wars, and we shared an account, to which the name was anakin. I liked the Darth Vader look a lot, so I made my own name Darth Anakin (Darthakin) from then on.
@Darthikyu: When mimikyu got revealed and I wanted a red name, that became Darthikyu.
#Sundar S: Oh wow, so his prediction was right? That's really neat. Next question comes from Mangiarulo, who asks what is your favorite NBA team?
@Darthikyu: Well, I don't follow the NBA, so I can't really answer that, lol.
@Darthikyu: My favorite sports team in general, though, is Perugia Italy, an Italian volleyball team.
#Sundar S: Another day, another team I learn about. Then again, I don't know a lot about sports (except playing it of course). The next three questions come from Bunguin87, who first asks you what profession do you want to pursue in the future?
@Darthikyu: I want to become a teacher, for the same reason I coach volleyball: I love working with kids. Though it's sometimes annoying to deal with, I like teaching people things (though I'm better at it in real life than online, luckily, lol) as it makes me happy.
#Sundar S: That's definitely a good profession to go for. Give your students the education they need. His next question is what is your favorite number?
@Darthikyu: My favorite number is pretty easy! 7!
@Darthikyu: I was born the 7th of the 7th month, so it's always been my favorite number haha
#Sundar S: I wonder how did you feel when it was July 7, 2007... Outside of that, the next question comes from XpRienzo, who asks how long have you been on PS! and how has your experience been?
#Sundar S: You've already mentioned you were here for 6 years, so at least we'd like to know your experience by far.
@Darthikyu: My experience on PS... that I spend too much time on it, lol.
@Darthikyu: I've been in a lot of rooms over time on PS, and I can safely say I've enjoyed most of them. The rooms I'm in right now are the ones I enjoy most, obviously, and I can say I happily log in every morning to see the people I've met here.
#Sundar S: That's amazing to hear. Another question XpRienzo asks is what are the places you'd like to visit the most? (outside of Leuven/Louvain)
@Darthikyu: Currenly the spots I'd like to visit most around the world are Machu Picchu in Peru, The pyramids of Egypt, and Istanbul.
#Sundar S: That looks like some interesting tourist destinations. CloudyWithAChance asks what is your favorite thing about Cosmopolitan (as a room)?
@Darthikyu: Used to be the lectures I did, though I've exhausted topics on those so nowadays it's mostly the community and the discussion when it occurs on cultural history.
#Sundar S: Mm, the next question comes from Avielex, who asks is there anything or anyone that / who would stop you from doing your job as both a Cosmopolitan staff and as a PS user?
@Darthikyu: Never say never, I suppose. I love being cosmopolitan staff and I love being on PS, so right now it'd be pretty rare for me to actually quit both. But you know, things can happy, you never know.
#Sundar S: Agreed. The next 3 questions come from VigilanteVigoroth, who first asks what is your favorite thing about PS!?
@Darthikyu: I feel like that's easy to answer but hard to explain. MY favorite thing about PS is the people.
#Sundar S: Yeah, I'd love the community over battling, because you get to meet a lot of new people in this fashion. VigVig's next question is in under 10 words, how can people be encouraged to join and be part of the Cosmo family?
@Darthikyu: Ten words?
@Darthikyu: Have a healthy interest in the cultures of the world.
#Sundar S: Such a thought-provoking response right there for you VigVig. The next three questions (back-to-back) comes from bumba, who asks. What's it like growing up in a country with as much of a duality as Belgium (regarding the dutch and french parts).
#Sundar S: Do you notice anything in your day to day life? How much does it affect the country as a whole?
@Darthikyu: Love the question.
@Darthikyu: As a whole Belgium (in my opinion) is very split. Most notably a lot of people don't speak dutch anymore, especially since I live near the language border, and in general a lot of people I associate with hate the french part and vice versa.
@Darthikyu: In my day to day life, I suppose the amount of french in my life is the biggest tell.
@Darthikyu: As for the country as a whole, let's just say there's people who want the country to split and people who don't. quite divided indeed.
#Sundar S: Oof, it feels like an issue waiting to be solved. I just hope Belgium can stay united as a nation, because splitting wouldn't be a good approach, if you get what I mean. The next question comes from AxelTheRosered, who asks what kinds of cultural music do you like?
@Darthikyu: I'm a massive fan of Sabaton, a band that focuses on metal music around history.
#Sundar S: I see. smii asks who are your favorite people you have met on this website?
@Darthikyu: I think I can confidently say Luc the Lucario and Awesome96Birdy are the two best friends I have on this site.
@Darthikyu: although in all honesty picking favorites is dumb. I like everyone I talk to, and most people I don't talk to, lol
#Sundar S: I mean, it will always be a hard decision. Both your son and bird friends would appreciate that response. :)
#Sundar S: Damnright asks how did you come across the Cosmo room?
@Darthikyu: Ban Ponyta was bragging he got voice in it in Dutch so I checked it out :^
#Sundar S: I'm at least glad you sticked around after that. Final few questions comes from our resident RO Lionyx, who asks what is your favorite country that you've been to? Share with us your craziest experience while travelling overseas!
@Darthikyu: My favorite country to have visited is Greece. I absolutely love everything about Greece - The culture, the food, the people, everything.
#Sundar S: I don't know why that didn't feel surprising to me. Final question comes from surprise, the interviewer, I believe his name was Sundar? He asks what is your favorite animal wildlife, as you are so deeply interested in them a lot?
@Darthikyu: Hmm. My favorite wild animal...
@Darthikyu: I suppose i'll have to do my last name (Of Lions) proud and go for the Lion :)
#Sundar S: Rawr, is what we'd say! Thank you for spending some time and effort to respond to these questions, it was nice interviewing and knowing some new things about you. Anything else you want to tell to our readers before we conclude this interview?
@Darthikyu: I guess I'd just like to say that I'm glad I was able to do this. If anything I'd like to point out that I hope people stick around in cosmo, as it really is a great room that can only improve, especially if people try to get involved.
@Darthikyu: Sure. I'm Darthikyu, formerly known as Darthakin (esis, equiem, alix, iclause) and probably some I forgot.
